We all arrived at the gates a little bit earlier than 5am and at 6:30am the gates were opened and the security checks started.
We were the 2nd with ticket no. 401
Went straight to counter no. 9 n met a lovely Lady who took our docs and asked t normal questions.
We proceeded and sat outside as we waited for the real interview.
At 2pm we were called to counter 7.
Cons: Raise ur hands n swear that all that we will say is nothing but t truth
Us: We did
Cons: What do you do?
Us: We answered
Cons: You were at Moi University, I can see u have read books n books have been read by u, u even more qualified than me by far.
Me: Thank you
Cons: I’ll take your fingerprints 3 times cox the kids we don’t, so you do on their behalf.
Me : Ok
Cons: Have you had issues with t police
Us: No
Cons: Apart from these 2 do you have any other kid in your household ?
Us: We answered
Cons: Have u been married b4
Us: We answered
Cons: Turned to my hubby, I can see u also smoking books in t university. Can see u both r real scholars. What are you studying?
Hubby: Responded
Cons: Where are you going?
Us: We answered
Cons: Who do u know there n how r u related?
Us: Our cousin
Cons: Am giving u this green paper n 4 white papers……

Us: Thank u so much
My son raised his hand and asked him to give us the visa at the counter – Haki kids, a story of another day.
Stepped out of the room shading tears of joy. I was so emotional.
What I learnt:
-Truth is key with t consul
– Keep your answers short
– and stick to the point

I arrived at 5:30 at the gate and we were only 3 people at that time, at around 6:10 we got inside after passing through the first security check in the second one they took the phones and any metallic object including belts
I proceeded inside where I was given my token number which was 401 and a paper that gave instructions on how to arrange your documents both original and photocopy
After about 10 mins I was called inside to counter no 9 where an African lady asked for the documents both original and photocopy ( at that point I changed my host). After that she told me to pay at counter no 10 then go outside and wait to be called for the interview.
I waited for about 20 mins out then i was called to counter number 6
CO: Good morning
Me: good morning sir
Co: raise your right hand and swear that you will say the truth
Me: I swear
Co: are you married?
Me: no
Co: do you have any children?
Me: no
Co: are you in a serious relationship that can lead to marriage
Me: no
Co: name of the host and where he lives
Me: ans
Co: occupation
Me: ans
Co: when did you verify KNEC
Me: not sure bt almost a month ago
He handed me a green and white paper and said that i would get my visa in a week’s time
Co: congratulations and welcome to the US
